Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the UniShram mobile application and related services (the "Services"), operated by UniShram ("UniShram", "we", "us" or "our"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. About UniShram
UniShram is an online platform that helps daily-wage workers, contractors and clients find and connect with each other for construction, repair and maintenance work. UniShram is an intermediary: we provide the platform, but we are not an employer, contractor, staffing agency or party to any work agreement made between users.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract under Indian law.
- You must register with a valid mobile number that belongs to you.
- You may hold only one account, unless we allow otherwise.
3. Your account
- You must provide true, accurate and up-to-date information, including your name, skills, experience and location.
- You are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your phone and OTPs secure.
- Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been misused.
4. Rules for workers
- Only list skills and experience you genuinely have.
- Apply only for jobs you are able and willing to do, and inform the contractor or client in advance if you cannot attend.
- Follow safety instructions at the worksite and behave respectfully.
5. Rules for contractors and clients
- Post only genuine jobs with accurate details, including the type of work, location, duration and wages.
- Wages offered must not be below the minimum wage applicable in the relevant State for that type of work.
- Pay workers the agreed amount on time, and provide a safe working environment as required by law.
- Do not ask workers to pay any fee or deposit to get a job.
- You are responsible for complying with all labour, safety and other laws that apply to the work you offer.
6. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Post fake jobs, fake profiles, or false, misleading or fraudulent information.
- Offer or seek work that is illegal, dangerous without proper safety measures, or involves forced, bonded or child labour.
- Harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against or cheat any user, including on the basis of caste, religion, gender, region or language.
- Post false or paid reviews, or manipulate ratings.
- Send spam, collect other users' data, or use the Services for any purpose other than finding or offering genuine work.
- Upload content that is obscene, defamatory, hateful or otherwise unlawful, or that infringes anyone's rights.
- Try to hack, disrupt, copy or reverse-engineer the app.
7. Chat, ratings and reviews
Job-based chat is provided to help users discuss work. Ratings and reviews must be honest and based on real work experiences. We may remove content that breaks these Terms. You can report or block any user from within the app.
8. Payments
Unless the app clearly states otherwise, payments for work are made directly between users. UniShram does not hold, process or guarantee payments and is not responsible for any non-payment, delay or dispute about wages. If we introduce paid features in the future, their prices and terms will be shown before you pay.
9. Verification and safety
We verify mobile numbers, but we do not conduct background checks on every user and cannot guarantee the identity, skills, conduct or reliability of any user. Please use your own judgement before accepting or offering work, meet in safe places, and report suspicious behaviour to us.
10. Content you share
You keep ownership of the content you post (such as your profile, photos, job posts and reviews). You give UniShram a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display and store that content to operate and improve the Services.
11. Our intellectual property
The UniShram name, logo, app design and software belong to UniShram. You may not copy, modify or use them without our written permission.
12. Suspension and termination
We may warn, suspend or permanently remove any account, or remove any content, if we believe these Terms have been violated or if required by law. You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Disclaimers
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that you will find work or workers, that jobs will be completed, or that the Services will always be available or error-free.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UniShram is not liable for any disputes, injuries, losses, damages, unpaid wages or other issues arising from work arranged between users, or from the conduct of any user. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed ₹1,000 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is higher.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify UniShram against any claims, losses or expenses arising from your use of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any law.
16. Disputes between users
Any dispute about work, wages or conduct is between the users involved. We may, at our discretion, help by reviewing reports, but we are not obliged to resolve such disputes.
17. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, the courts at [City], India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these Terms or the Services.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Services after the changes means you accept the updated Terms.
